Despite a few health knocks of late, I refuse to be defeated. I’ve taken to keeping this 8lb dumbbell on my desk to remind me to do a few sets throughout the day. Aside from wanting to build some stamina for carrying my camera around, I’d like to think that at some point I will lose enough weight to see some shape in my arms. Also, it feels good to work those muscles.

The other day I saw a cute little beetle bug crawling around in the cords on my desk. Grabbed the camera which had the 24-70 lens on, and proceeded to try to catch a decent pic before the little guy scooted off to an unreachable corner. Once again, and probably not for the last time, I regretted having the wrong lens for the job. Should have been the 100mm macro. One doesn’t really always have time to find and switch a lens in the moment with “wildlife”! Ahh well, one does what one can with a little strategic cropping…
