We made it through July and all the way to the long awaited and greatly anticipated birthday celebration for Jordan (16) and Ruben (8)! What a month it has been – the preparations for returning to school have been all consuming. Buying uniforms and school supplies and books for seven, and still having something left over to celebrate birthdays at the end of the month – not ideal timing but with careful planning we made it work and we had a super duper day of it at Grandma’s. We dined on Birria Pupusas, chips, salsa, guacamole, veggies and fruit, and yummy DQ ice cream cakes (one for each birthday) for dessert.
Ruben’s birthday present was supposed to come on Saturday, the day before the party – but in fact it did not arrive until Tuesday. Here he is with his brand new pellet gun! Daddy taught him the Rules of Shooting, how to use the gun, and he has been having the best time target shooting ever since! All the kids have taken turns in fact, so it turned out to be fun for everyone.
