I was out with Ellie around 7 o’clock this evening when both our phones lit up with a dust storm warning – aka a haboob. The warning was supposed to last until 8:45. Those are serious around here, so I was thankful we were in our neighborhood and would be off the roads by the time it hit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shortly after getting back to the house, Ellie hollered for everybody to come see how weirdly orange the light was outside. I was slow on the uptake or otherwise occupied, until Laurent called from down the street telling me to get outside with my camera. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t need to be told twice!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I rushed out and took about 20 pics before realizing my camera settings were mucked up and everything I’d just taken was nearly black. That bummed me out because it looked so cool with the dust cloud half covering the sunset!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I reset everything and went back out, and stayed out in the wind as long as I could till I started feeling grit in my eyes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once I got them into Lightroom I was able to salvage the first three, though they are a little darker than the rest, but that was fun. I’ve driven in one a few times before, definitely NOT as fun! Hope everybody stayed safe out there.<\/p>\n\n\n\nngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n
