A couple of days ago there was some malicious activity on my social media profiles, which prompted me to turn everything off until I could get it sorted. I’m back in a more limited way now, and hopefully things will remain stable on all fronts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In the meantime, what on EARTH did I do without my doom-scroll, you may well ask?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I will admit that it was, as I expected it would be, an interesting exercise. I noted the non-trivial number of times I picked up my phone, only to realize the apps were no longer there for me to click. I got out my coloring to keep my hands busy. I recorded another chapter for the channel. I made a whole and entire dinner yesterday, which as you may know requires a lot of determination and finding workarounds for the pain. I didn’t make any photos because it involved sort of boring foodstuffs – chicken in a crock pot with veggies, and yellow rice. Tasty, but not the most photogenic dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The preparations for Halloween are well in hand. Ruben’s costume pieces have all arrived, Ellie’s will get here before noon according to Amazon (she only decided on her costume last night, so hurrah for next-day-delivery!), and there is face paint for anyone who wants a quick-and-easy character for the evening. Natalie was planning to dress as Tigger and go spend the evening with a friend, but I don’t know if she will make it or not. She’s been sick at home for two days, and only went to school this morning because her fever abated. We’ll see how the day progresses I guess.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I’m itching to get out to a store and do some pumpkin hunting – for decorative purposes mainly, although I know at least a couple of kids who would like to do some carving. Maybe I can do that with Jacob today before the kids get home…<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And oh, I would be remiss if I forgot to mention Tuesday night. We had the honor of attending Natalie’s final high school volleyball game, where the seniors on the team were honored. It was not only an emotional night for the girls and the team, but my goodness – what a great night of volleyball! The teams were well matched, there was a ton of excellent play on both sides of the net, and the gym was packed with the loudest, most deafeningly enthusiastic fans I can remember hearing. I’m glad I had my own chair, even though I might have had a better view from up in the bleachers – it was much comfier for the four-game series. Still and all, after three full hours my back was definitely ready to get home. But it was worth it, for sure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
