So, how’s cold and flu season going at your house? We’re trudging stoically through the second month of illness here, having gone through now two cases of pneumonia, one sinus infection, 1 ear infection and 2-3 cases of bronchitis. Meds are flowing like a river… but hopefully after this weekend we will be out of the woods and can get everybody back into school full time by Tuesday again.
I have to say, after a couple of decades of yearly bouts of bronchitis, ending with pneumonia and covid, I am not sorry I started getting flu shots after 2021. I have not been sick once since then, despite all these germs wafting through the house! Thanks be to God!!
Another area of progress is my weight loss – it’s finally started moving again! I’m down 33 pounds since October, and SOON I will have a long awaited number to report. Stay tuned for that joyful day!
Finally, my slow-moving tiny-room redecorating process has finally come to (mostly) completion. Today the last piece of the puzzle arrived – a slightly thicker mattress topper for Paul’s side of the bed, so that our two beds are the same height (when mine isn’t in it’s bendy shape for sleeping). That’s what I was waiting for to finally be able to take a nice photo of the room, so here’s the current state of things:
I’m plotting a few more tweaks and updates, but I’m super happy with how it has turned out. I love spending time in my room with the lights dimmed and the twinkling fairy lights up above – and it has become a hangout for the kids as well. I’d love to update every other room in the house too – after 15 years the paint is in pretty dismal shape everywhere. However, finances are the issue, so I need to pace myself. But I can ponder and plan! 🙂
