Bird of Prey

Bird of Prey

It was Thursday morning, I’d just pulled into the driveway after dropping the kids off at school. Just as I was climbing down out of Big Red, a great flapping commotion grabbed my attention as a huge bird came flying out of our palm tree, swooped away from me and up into the neighbor’s White Lead tree by their front window. I was shocked – having never seen what was obviously some kind of hawk in town before! Cursing my misfortune at not capturing that wingspan with my good camera, I grabbed the only thing I had, my Pixel 9Pro, and started snapping away as best I could. At least I managed to get a couple of shots as he left that perch and flew away so you can see the markings on his wings.

Stupid phone cameras. One should never leave the house without a real camera and a telephoto lens. Obviously.
