Brighter!

Brighter!

The last week has upended life on the girls’ side of the house. Their bathroom has been under construction – first the demolition of their shower, which involved removing tile walls, flooring, wall board and even some of the studs, due to mold.

Then came the new tile. I consulted with the girls, as they will be using this the most for the next few years, and we came up with an aqua blue for the walls, and a sort of gold-marbled hexagonal floor tile.

I was so happy they were going to tile all the way to the ceiling instead of only part way up like the old shower.

And after they had finished it beautifully, they said they would paint the whole room, so I had to come up with a color quickly! The girls weren’t too sure of the color I chose, but I was going for something neutral that would not cast a weird color on the skin (something I failed to factor into my previous color scheme). I am absolutely delighted with the results!

Thankful for tax refund money to do this job – it was really needed! And now the girls have a beautiful bathroom for many years to come. Hopefully they can keep it looking this nice! 😉

No picture, but we also had a new dishwasher installed on Monday. It’s been 4 years since we got the old one, and as you can imagine in a household of 10 people, it gets used A LOT. It broke, and now the new one is dreamy – it doesn’t rock when you open it, it doesn’t leak, the control panel actually lights up – amazing! 😀
