Tranquil

Tranquil

A typical Sunday began with Dunkn’ Donuts for the kids, and 9am mass to celebrate the Baptism of the Lord.

From there, a relaxing drive across the valley to visit Grandma. These tranquil Sunday afternoons are a respite and oasis for the soul. Paul helped her with computer fixes, we enjoyed time visiting and puzzling, and ate some yummy toasted ham and Swiss sandwiches (and of course, Jell-O!). Delightful family time.

Then it was a drive home, where the kids jumped out and, while I waited in the van, grabbed some presents they had put together for Mama Ana, and then I drove them over to her house where they spent a couple of hours celebrating her birthday. I meant to pick them up as soon as they called for a ride, but after I’d been in the van for 2 hours, I was hurting badly and went to rest. I slept harder than I realized, and woke up to the sounds of their rambunctious re-entry into the house after Paul had gone to get them. I’m glad they had a fun time together.

Now begins a new week, and we start revving up for more sportsing around here… track season is soon upon us, Ellie is cheering for various teams, Efrain is starting chess competitions, and softball starts next week. I’m going to be striving for daily walks – little ones – to keep getting stronger so I can attend some of these events with my camera!
