She knew the hour and the minute, and had a literal countdown clock going on her Instagram until the moment she would turn 18! It’s been a lifetime coming but she finally made it. Natalie is a grown-up, bona-fide, adult woman now. Her siblings are fond of reminding her she can no longer “beat them up” or she’ll get in trouble with the law! Lol – I don’t think anything is going to change there… She declared at one point “I’m getting a tattoo!” And I laughed, “I don’t care, you’re an adult! It’s your money, it’s your skin!” I trust her. She will make good decisions. She’s a straight A student who’s already working on her first college degree while in high school, plays softball and does photography for the yearbook committee, and is a regular volunteer at Saint Vincent de Paul where she works with the Spanish speaking clients. What a rock star!
As providence would have it, her birthday landed on a Sunday – and one we were going to be at Grandma’s anyway, so it was extra special to celebrate there, with strawberry cheesecake, In-N-Out burgers, and best of all, Grandma.
