A Jenga, Badminton, and Spaghetti Kind of Day

A Jenga, Badminton, and Spaghetti Kind of Day

As we do approximately every other week when a couple of kids stay at grandma’s for the weekend, we headed over to the east valley after mass to retrieve the kids and have lunch with Grandma. Our aim is to bring so much noise and confusion into her quiet home that she can breathe a sigh of relief when we finally load up and take off again.

Today was par for the course. Jenga is quiet enough, except when everything crashes down… badminton indoors is a bit questionable… there may have been some chasing around in circles between Efrain and Ruben, stealing my phone and making videos, and there was definitely wrestling between Ellie and Ruben, and later, Lyss and Natalie! What a lot of nonsense.

Despite all that my beloved mother-in-law provided a repast glorious in its simplicity and perfection – spaghetti and meatballs with garlic cheese bread, and chocolate chip cookies for dessert. It just doesn’t get any better than that.

The best of times.
