After only a slight delay of one week past the birthdays (to accommodate Grandma’s epic journey to the Heidmann Family Reunion in North Dakota) we were at last able to celebrate the July birthdays of Ruben (7) and Jordan (15) yesterday at Grandma’s house.
There was all the usual chaos and insanity, cake and presents, plus meeting Geneva’s boyfriend, Mark. We celebrate with extreme gratitude, never taking for granted one minute of these blessings when we are together.

Unfortunately, the day ended on a sadder note, with one of our kiddos back in the behavioral health hospital. We beg your prayers for X, that he might know how much he is loved by his earthly parents, and his Heavenly Father. And for the family, as we navigate these stormy seas of trauma and mental health.
