Summer Begins

Summer Begins

As I mentioned in the previous post, Paul and Laurent went up north with the kids for the weekend and, in the various to-ings and fro-ings on the ranch roads, Laurent blew a tire, thus truncating the fun for several of the crew.

This post is a collection of the photos Paul took with his excellent Pixel phone that he sent to me and let me fiddle with in Photoshop to my heart’s content.

Since I was not there, I can’t really provide much in the way of narrative, other than to point out that, on the one day when they were all together (Saturday), great fun was had by all the kids when Dad pulled a dead tree out of the valley and let them hack it into firewood with an ax.

Also, eating watermelon while wearing mismatched socks, swim shorts, and a super hero cape is what I call making the most of being 6 years old.

Also, Jordan climbed all the way to the top of the water tower at the cowboy station.

Also, mountain lakes are absolutely gorgeous.

Also, apparently the end of May is not too late for snowball fights!

Also, it seems Efrain has earned the nickname “Tokyo Drift”… which may or may not be why Laurent’s car ended up needing to be pulled out of the sand… (side note: learning to drive with his sister is clearly way more fun than learning to drive was for her with their mother!)

Also, Sir Rupert’s first trip to the ranch was an epic success about which he will dream for months to come.

Good times were had.

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
