2022 Year in Review

2022 Year in Review

It’s 9:54pm on December 31, 2022 and I’ve just finished uploading my year-in-review photo gallery. I’m glad I have photos because otherwise the year goes by a blur! Here’s a little bit of where we’ve been and what we’ve done and what things looked like around here on the daily.

What you don’t see here are the struggles. Working through emotional trauma is hard and sometimes ugly, and sometimes beautiful but only after time and reflection. We have seen a lot of progress with our kids on some fronts, and we are entering new areas of struggle and challenge as we find out new mental health diagnoses and sort through therapy and medications. It’s complicated and messy, painful and anything but picture perfect. But in the midst of the hard days there is true growth and Love never leaves us to wander this journey alone. We are grateful, every day, for the chance to hang on for dear life to our Lord Jesus!

I am never very good at editing down to only a few, so here’s a giant gallery of fun from the year behind. May 2023 bring more adventures, learning, growth, and love!

I homeschooled four kids all the way through high school and then fostered/adopted 7 more children. I am wife to a very smart mathematician; I dabble in photography, write and sing, paint in bright colors, and love being Catholic!
