Out with the Old, In with the New

Out with the Old, In with the New

Of all times to have our air conditioner go out, during the pandemic would not have been the ideal choice, with the uncertainties of our current economy. However, it’s been nearly 10 years since this unit was new, so it was time, and it’s not the kind of thing we can wait to fix when we have family members with fragile health to consider.

It was exciting for the kids to see the workmen come with a big crane to take away the old machine and install the new one on the roof! I tried to stay out of the way but still get a few photos.

I’m happy to report the new unit is very efficient, colder than the old one, and we can even control it with an app on the phone. So fancy! Of course I like this better because I used to have to fish out a key from the hiding place to open the box on the wall (which we put there so the kids couldn’t constantly be bringing the piano bench into the hallway so they could climb up and push the buttons <coughEFRAINcoughRUBEN>) to change the temperature. Now it’s as easy as tapping my phone! I’m a happy camper.
