Thursday evening, after Laurent finished work, she brought her dogs over, loaded them into Tom Truck, and joined Paul in heading north for a little weekend jaunt to the Carrizo. They wanted to get a little hiking in before the annual Ranch association meeting on Saturday.
The fall rains have done a real number on the roads. The Carrizo Wash was running like a raging river! Paul even managed to get himself sunk knee-deep in quicksand-like mire down in the wash! It took him nearly 10 minutes to free himself. When they got to town, he went through the car wash and Laurent sprayed him down to get it (or most of it) off.
I’m told that when they arrived at the ranch, Nyxie (Laurent’s black pup) spent the first hour running madly. Rupert, well, Rupert did not. I can imagine he found some interesting smells, but he’s not one to run unnecessarily.
Anyway here are the pics Paul brought home. There really is some lovely terrain in northern AZ!
