Suddenly Left Handed

It’s a slow business, typing without the full use of both hands, especially when my normal speed is around 90wpm. But my carpal tunnel syndrome finally got the best of me, and I had to go in for surgery on Friday. Honestly the procedure itself was a breeze, as surgeries go. Full anesthesia, very calm; lovely caring nurses to assist before and after. The greatest discomfort was the numbness and tingling before the local anesthesia wore off. I spent most of Friday and Saturday sleeping, and again today had about a 6 hour nap. I did a little trial driving just to go up the street to pick up Jacob and bring him back to join us for lunch, and then drove him home afterward. I can at least manage that much so it will help Paul to be able to hand the driving back back to me on Monday. He spent so much time traveling to and fro between Friday, Saturday and today with all the different activities the kids were involved in, he will be much relieved!

One of the activities of the week was the first home football game on Thursday night. We finally have a Heidmann on the football team!! Efrain joined this year, and I’m pretty psyched for him. Even better, with four siblings in attendance on Thursday night, our team won! Natalie got back into her sports photography mode and got some great shots to bring home for me to edit. Here are a few, including our guy, #50. Go Matadors!!
