Milestone Birthdays

Milestone Birthdays

July is a big birthday month, and this year is especially notable. As of today we have both a 10 year old (double digits!! Yayy!!) and an 18 year old (another whole actual adult human) in the family. It was cause for much celebration, which we held last Sunday at Grandma’s house. There were board games, screen time, Ruben’s bible reading, pretty pics of Laurent, plus pizza and cake (Jordan chose the Mickey Mouse theme out of nostalgia) – and someone took a picture of ME (gasp!) so I guess you can see that I cut my thinning hairs. While it IS easier to wash-and-wear this way, it’s still falling out, so I’m glad this also makes wig wearing easier. Still need to find a wig I *love* though…

Ruben was besieged with stuffies, along with a full set of Guardians of  Ga’Hoole books (and a big bucket of Robux to spend in his favorite computer game). Jordan got a really challenging Lego set from Laurent, and hard cold cash from everyone else. I think he plans to go see the new Spiderman movie this weekend some time, and I’m pretty sure there are several other siblings thinking similar thoughts.

Pics of the celebration, as well as Jordan’s Lego endeavor – a Lego Jeep, with all moving parts: engine, wheels, doors, seats, super cool project!

Oh yeah and Ellie got the craft fever as well, and created a flower out of an energy drink can, which was lovely to look at, but left metal shards in her wake all over my desk. Oh well, the price we pay for creativity!
